I had baleadas, horchata, and tres leches. The baleadas were great, but the rest was just ok (tres leches cake slice was pretty dry and horchata was not particularly flavorful.) I've been here a few times, expect a 10-15 min wait because they make the food fresh. It's not a particularly fancy place, but it's nice that you can pick up some groceries while you wait for the food (small grocery store.)
The sweet bread is sure to satisfy your cravings but the food menu is ah-mazing and the service is friendly. They have the best Salvodorian pupusas (non-greasy) and Honduran baleadas I've ever tasted. Everything is made from scratch with traditional flavors that don't miss the mark. The portions are also very filling and a plate of each can be shared between two to three people. The dining area is limited so be sure to get there early on a weekend before they sell out or stop serving before noon. If you are craving a dessert I highly recommend the tres leches (3 milk cake).
I like Mexican pastries and this place has a nice selection. Fruit turnovers, custard bread, etc. The pastries were pretty fresh and we enjoyed the ones we had. The Latin store that is next to it has a nice selection of hard to find ingredients. If your looking for Queso Fresco for your Mexican tacos this place can fix you up. They also have Mexican Coke and fruit Popsicles (paletas). The restaurant was not open when we went, so we were not able to try it, Next time.
Best pastries I have had in quite sometime. Nice lady and young man were there 09/06. He was very helpful. I live in Lafayette LA but will make my way there monthly. The cream cheese empanadas are divine.
Excellent food, service and prices. If you enjoy authentic Salvadoran food you will love it! The food is cooked fresh, the coffee is strong and the owner is super friendly. It gets busy so get there early! We came here for my mom's birthday breakfast and it was delicious. I bought 2 quesadillas and a Mexican Coke on my way out!
